Dr. Kraupa founded the Eye Care Center in 1977 and retired in December 2020.
During his career, Dr. Kraupa was active in his profession and community, serving as past president of the Minnesota Optometric Association, past president of his local Rotary Club and past chairman of the Managed Care Committee of the American Optometric Association. He presented seminars around the country on the topic of health care reform and managed health care. Dr. Kraupa was honored twice as Minnesota's “Optometrist of the Year” - the only person ever to receive this award twice. Dr. Kraupa now splits time in Shoreview and Florida. He enjoys spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. His retirement hobbies include golf, biking, and sailing.
