Dr. Keith joined the Eye Care Center team in 2014. Originally from Sherwood, ND, he received a degree in Biology from Minot State University in 2004 and his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in 2008. At graduation he was awarded the Dean's Award, the highest honor in his optometry class.
Following optometry school Dr. Keith completed an optometric residency at the Kansas City VA Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, where he received further training in the treatment and management of ocular disease. In 2009, he joined the full-time faculty at the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in Chicago, IL. As an Assistant Professor, his primary focus was clinical teaching of optometry students and residents while seeing patients at the Illinois Eye Institute. He also served as the Chief of Eye Care Services at the Sidney Hillman Health Center, a multi-disciplinary health center in Chicago. His passion for education was acknowledged by receiving six teaching awards while at ICO.
Dr. Keith has been an active instructor on the KMK Optometry team since 2010 teaching review courses to optometry students across the country preparing for their national board exams. In 2021, he Co-Founded KMK Optometry Coaching, a company designed to give optometry students preparing for their board exams more personal attention and better prepare them for patient care. In addition, he teaches continuing education to practicing optometrists nationally and abroad.
Dr. Keith currently serves as a Trustee to the Board of the Minnesota Optometric Association, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association and American Optometric Association and received Minnesota’s “Young Optometrist of the Year” award in 2019.
He, his wife Megan, and daughter reside in St. Louis Park. In their spare time, they enjoy exploring the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, travel, and being active on foot or road bike.
